  MOBILE CRANE SAFETY ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE
   
PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND: The numbers of cranes on construction sites is continually increasing, as are the frequency and complexity of lifts. Along with the increased number of cranes, there is a corresponding increase in accidents. This course is designed for the Project Manager/Construction Manager to assist in controlling the operations on his site. It will provide guidelines for management of crane operations and coordination among the users and suppliers
 
  LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
 

• Basic requirements of the OHSA regulations, as published in SubPart N of the Federal Regulations.
• Latest requirements of recently published SubPart R.
• Requirements for the latest B.30 series of standards.
• Impact of A10.33 and A10.38.
• What should be expected of the crane operator.
• What the NCCO certification designates.
• Techniques of lift planning and critical lift controls.

 
  Upon successful completion of the course, the attendees will understand the intricacies of crane operations and the standards which apply, and be equipped with a product means of controlling crane and rigging openly on the site. Also discussed will be the control of lifting operations

  The course will include, in addition to the material for review, product assignment problems to be solved, 8 scheduled weekly live chatrooms in which the student can interact live with our experienced instructor, access to bulletin boards for exchange of ideas and comments with other students on assigned discussion topics and a final exam to verify completion of the course for the NACS certificate.

This course is equivalent to a 32 hours of classroom instruction and includes the ASCE manual “Crane Safety on Construction Sites”, and copies of applicable ANSI Crane Standards.
