PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND:
This course is designed for the on-site supervisor and foreman who
may be designated as Competent/Qualified Person, as required by the
recently enacted January 2002, SubPart R, which requires that all
rigging be performed by a qualified person and requires training of
workers be performed by a qualified person
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Requirements for a qualified person for rigging
standards,
as defined by OSHA.
• Review the engineering principles of rigging standards
• Review current OSHA regulations, ANSI standards and best practices
in the industry.
• Rigging charts for download.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Foremen and supervisors
Directors for on-site rigging or lift operations.
Project Managers/Construction Managers
This course is equivalent to 16 hours
of classroom instruction.
Class size is limited to 20.
This course will include a review of the OSHA Regulations,
as published in SubPart R and OSHA Compliance Directives, student
product work-oriented problems,
two scheduled live chatrooms where the student can interact live with
our experienced instructor, access to bulletin boards for an exchange
of ideas and comments with other students on assigned discussion topics,and
a final exam to verify completion of the course for the NACS Certification
